Leaving Behind The Strip Mall Past

SITUATION

Dr. Dougherty built a beautiful new space, ideal for communicating the message of his high-end cosmetic emphasis. But he knew that his old branding and marketing approach was not connecting with his ideal patients. It had hitched a ride with him from his old mall location (Rolling Oaks Dental). The old branding did not match the new location or quality of the experience patients could expect. Dr. Dougherty had invested his time and talents into building a fantastic practice and now wanted to effectively communicate this to his market.

PROCESS

We strongly believe that the best branding is derived from an accurate and compelling definition of a business’s culture, their TRUE mission, vision, and values. After spending time with Dr. Dougherty, we were able to help him dig deep and unearth what really energized him about dentistry. He LOVES helping people to transform their lives through confidence-building cosmetic dentistry. Check out the Culture Charter below to understand why we went in the direction we did on his dental practice logo.

CULTURE

SLOGAN (abbreviated mission statement / your BATTLE CRY)

“Elevating Confidence”

MISSION (WHY you do what you do)

“We transform smiles and lives through world-class cosmetic dentistry, elevating confidence, beauty, and the human spirit.”

VISION (WHAT success looks like to you)

“To be Greater San Antonio’s most trusted leader in cosmetic dentistry.”

VALUES (HOW you act)

1. Purpose-Driven Excellence

We do everything with intention, from the smallest detail to the biggest transformation, because we believe our work changes lives and elevates confidence.

2. Ownership
& Integrity

We take pride in our work, our team, and our results. We show up fully, take responsibility, and own our roles in the practice.

3. Compassionate Honesty

We listen deeply, speak truthfully, and never judge. We build trust by helping patients face fears, understand their health, and pursue the care they truly need.

4. Always Growing

We embrace change, pursue excellence, and stay curious, because growth fuels confidence and confidence transforms lives.

IDEATION

Elevation and transformation were powerful concepts that emerged. We considered incorporating a mission bell, befitting the San Antonio heritage. But we felt those concepts were a little too overtly religious. We explored variations of initials, but nothing was really singing. We landed on an abstract, symmetrical symbol that repeated the “D” for Dougherty, but also resembled stained glass, arched windows similar to what might be found in a house of worship. Bingo. Elevating vibe, not too “churchy”, clean, symmetrical, and beautiful. (Check out his branding on his new website)
